Palestinian Journalists' Syndicate Honours Bashar Masri for Supporting Journalists

The Palestinian Journalists' Syndicate has honoured Palestinian Bashar Masri for his longstanding support of its work and of journalists across the region, particularly those
working in Gaza under exceptionally difficult circumstances.
The tribute was presented during a meeting at Mr Masri's office in Rawabi attended by Syndicate President Nasser Abu Bakr, members of its General Secretariat, and
representatives of its media and communications team.
Abu Bakr said the honour acknowledged Mr Masri's support for journalists, especially those in Gaza, and praised those helping journalists and their families across Gaza and the West
Bank. He added that the syndicate has worked over the past three years to provide practical assistance to journalists operating in extraordinary professional and humanitarian
circumstances.
Mr Masri paid tribute to Palestinian journalists and the vital role they continue to play despite the risks they face.
"I salute all Palestinian journalists who continue to convey the truth from the field under unprecedented circumstances, carrying out their national and professional mission despite danger, targeting and loss," Mr Masri said.
He also praised the Syndicate’s work under Abu Bakr’s leadership to defend journalists' rights, support press freedom, and ensure Palestinian journalists’ voices continue to be
heard. Mr Masri said the organisation offers an important example of cooperation between the West Bank and Gaza, built around shared vision and common purpose. During the
meeting, members of the General Secretariat from Gaza described the professional and humanitarian realities facing journalists. Participants emphasised the importance of
sustained support for journalists and their families as they continue reporting across Palestine.
Mr Masri has long supported initiatives that strengthen Palestinian institutions and create opportunities for Palestinian communities. He is the founder of Rawabi, Palestine's first
planned city, Chairman of PADICO, and a co-founder of Al-Ayyam, one of Palestine's leading daily newspapers.
Through his business and philanthropic activities, he continues to advocate for economic development, institution-building and investment in Palestine’s future.
